We are a New Zealand non-profit organisation and part of a global network hosting live crowd-funding events in a fun and inclusive setting. We put out a call for applications and select three social entrepreneurs with small- medium sized charities who then pitch for funding from the audience at each event. Just as importantly, we support TFN Alumni and NZ’s not-for-profit sector by connecting good people to good projects and supporting capacity building through our workshops and networking. We also offer our expertise through our white label events, where larger charities present three of their programmes.
Adopting a model that has flourished in the UK since 2002, The Funding Network (TFN) makes it possible for individuals, foundations and corporations to give collectively (in increments starting from as little as $100), whilst aiming to raise at least $10,000 for each organisation making a pitch.
TFN offers social entrepreneurs the rare opportunity to showcase their work, secure funding and mentoring, and expand their donor base and networks.
Our friendly, open environment inspires people to raise more as a group than they could as individuals and encourages them to offer more than just money. Our guests hear about new solutions to community issues, ask questions, and then pledge their support to social entrepreneurs with big ideas but limited resources.
Our aim is to broaden the culture and practice of giving by making it accessible, engaging, collaborative and rewarding for all.
